Bärenstobe

The historic Bärenstobe, run by Carsten Kypke, exudes a cozy atmosphere and is a culinary institution in the Appenzell region with regional products and fine wines.

The Bärenstobe combines tradition and modernity in a unique way. In the historic rooms of the inn, which was first mentioned in a document in 1751, guests can experience sophisticated fine dining. From Thursday to Saturday, Executive Chef Carsten Kypke creates a tasting menu with four to six courses that combines top regional products with the most diverse flavours in the world. Although the Appenzell roots form the basis, modern approaches and fresh ingredients create completely new flavour experiences at the Bärenstobe. The culinary offer has recently been rounded off with a matching drink or wine accompaniment with exquisite wines from the impressive wine cellar.
